This hanging piece is an emblematic work by Jean-Luc Le Mounier both for its presence and its spectacular aspect. The cabinet is entirely covered in bronze and black straw marquetry. The decorative sunburst pattern on the curved wings gives the straw a unique play of light. The wings give access to the cabinet doors, which open on thin white bronze grilles, reinterpreting the structure of a butterfly’s wings. The interior has two adjustable shelves and a box that hangs from a secret compartment.
